Privacy Policy — RUMMYES

How we use
Access logs are used to monitor site health and to spot abusive crawlers. Contact-form submissions are used only to reply to your message and to keep a short internal record of correction requests. We do not profile visitors, we do not build advertising audiences, and we do not sell any data we hold. We will never attempt to re-identify a visitor from the anonymised page-view counts, we will never cross-reference form data with log data for marketing, and we will never sell any extract of this data to a research or marketing partner.
- 2
Third parties
The site hosts static files on Cloudflare's CDN; Cloudflare receives standard request metadata as part of serving the page. The /play/ redirector forwards traffic to the operator — once you leave this domain the operator's own privacy policy applies. Fonts are self-hosted so Google Fonts does not see your request. If we need to add a new processor — for example, a transactional email provider — we will update this page before the processor goes live and we will not back-date the change. The current list of processors is deliberately short because every entry is a risk surface and every surface we remove is a risk we no longer have to manage.

Your rights
If you live in a jurisdiction that grants you statutory data rights — the EU, the UK, India under the DPDP Act, California — you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold, correct it, or have it deleted. Send the request from the email address the data concerns so we can verify who is asking. We respond within thirty days. Where a request would require us to look up a specific log line, we may ask for additional context (the day and approximate time of your visit, the article you were reading) because our logs are not indexed by email address. We make the request as light as we reasonably can; we are not trying to deter it.

What we collect
This site collects standard server access logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, response code, timestamp) and the information you type into the contact form (name, email, message body). We do not run first-party analytics beyond anonymised page-view counts. We do not use session recording or heatmaps and we do not fingerprint devices. We purge raw access logs after fourteen days and keep only anonymised aggregates after that. Contact-form data is retained only for as long as the correction request itself remains open, plus three months for audit purposes, after which the thread and any attachments are deleted. We do not route form submissions through a third-party helpdesk.

International transfers
Our hosting runs on Cloudflare's global network, which means your request may be served from a data centre outside your country of residence. The content served is identical. Cloudflare's data processing agreement sets out the safeguards that apply to any such transfer; a copy is available on their public documentation site. Cloudflare's EU and India presence means most Indian visitors are served from Mumbai or Chennai, but the fallback nodes include Singapore, Frankfurt, and Ashburn. We do not direct traffic manually — the network does what it does, and the privacy guarantees travel with the request.

Changes
This policy can change if the way we handle data changes — a new form, a different host, a withdrawal of an existing processor. We note the date of the last revision at the top of the page and we do not back-date edits. Material changes are flagged in the footer for at least seven days after they go live. We flag the revision in the footer so a returning visitor can see at a glance whether anything shifted. Historic versions of the policy are kept in the public repository that backs this site and can be requested by email at any time.

Children
RUMMYES itself is restricted to adults 18 and older, and this information site is written for the same audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has sent us a message, email us and we will delete the record immediately. We also do not advertise this site on channels aimed at under-18s, we do not sponsor school or college events, and we refuse any syndication partnership whose target audience includes minors. The whole surface of this project is adults only, by design.
