    Limits and tools

Inside the RUMMYES account you can set a daily, weekly, and monthly deposit limit, a loss limit, a wager limit, and a session reality-check timer. All of them live under the Responsible Play menu in the account settings and apply across the Android APK, the iOS build, and the web client. Raising a limit requires a seventy-two hour cooldown; lowering it is instant. The server stores each setting against your profile, which means clearing cookies, reinstalling the app, or switching device does not reset anything you have already chosen.

    Signs of problem

Chasing a bad session with a bigger stake, borrowing money to deposit, hiding the amount you spend from a partner or parent, lying about where you are when you log in late at night, missing work or sleep after a session, and feeling anxious when the app is unavailable — any two of these appearing together is worth taking seriously. The sooner the pattern is spotted the shorter the course of correction, and the main obstacle at this early stage is almost always embarrassment, not willpower.

    Helpline list

In India the two free helplines the editorial team has verified as responsive are iCall on 9152987821 (available 08:00–22:00 IST Monday–Saturday, free from any Indian number) and the Vandrevala Foundation on 1860-2662-345 (twenty-four hours, in Hindi, English, and several regional languages). Internationally, GamCare runs a free live chat in English, Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org) hosts online meetings in multiple time zones, and BeGambleAware.org publishes a directory of local counsellors. None of these services asks for financial detail or payment at the first point of contact.

    Where to get help

In India, iCall (9152987821) and Vandrevala Foundation (1860-2662-345) run free counselling helplines in multiple languages. Internationally, BeGambleAware.org, Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org), and GamCare offer online chat and local meeting listings. All four services are free and confidential; none of them demand that you quit. The services listed above are the ones the editorial team has verified as responsive and free. We update this list when a helpline changes a number, stops answering, or starts charging — most recently in June 2026 after a confirmed change at one of the state helplines. None of these services asks for financial detail during an initial call. None of them calls you back on your workplace line unless you expressly request it. If a service you reach does ask for either, hang up — it is not the service listed above.

    Self check quiz

A short private check: in the last three months, have you felt restless when trying to cut down on play; have you played longer than planned on more than three occasions; have you been irritable when a session was interrupted; have you deposited more than you intended on more than one occasion; have you concealed the amount from someone close to you. Two or more yes answers is a signal to pause, not an endorsement of a diagnostic category. The quiz is a starting point for a conversation with a trusted person or a helpline.
